Privacy and safeguarding

How we protect your information, and how we keep the people we work with safe.

What we collect

Only what you choose to tell us: the details in a help request, contact form or volunteer application, and the way you want us to reach you. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

To reply to you, to arrange the help you agree to, and to keep a confidential case record so your caseworker does not have to ask the same questions twice. Donor and volunteer details are used only to manage donations and volunteering.

When we share it

Only with your permission, and only with the people who need it to help you, such as a shelter, clinic or lawyer. We never sell or rent personal information.

The only exception is if we believe a child, or anyone's life, is in immediate danger. Then we may contact the appropriate authorities, and where it is safe we will tell you first.

How long we keep it

Case records are kept securely for as long as we are supporting you, and for a limited period afterwards as required by law, then deleted. [Confirm the retention period.]

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@kashmironline.org.

Safeguarding

Many of the people we help are children or vulnerable adults. We are committed to keeping them safe from harm, including harm from anyone connected with the foundation.

  • All staff and volunteers working with children or vulnerable adults give references and complete police verification
  • Everyone receives safeguarding training before they start
  • A named Safeguarding Lead handles every concern
  • We never ignore a concern, whoever it is about

Reporting a concern

If you are worried about the behaviour of anyone connected with Kashmir Online Foundation, email our Safeguarding Lead at safeguarding@kashmironline.org. Every report is taken seriously and handled in confidence.
