The support to learn, work and live on your own terms
For children and adults with physical, intellectual, developmental or sensory disabilities, and for the families who care for them.
The situation in Kashmir
Hilly roads, heavy snow, and schools and offices full of steps make daily life hard for many disabled people in Kashmir, especially in rural areas. Many disabled children never go to school, and many adults never get the chance to work.
Indian law gives disabled people strong rights, including the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. But many families do not know what they are entitled to, or how to get through the paperwork.

How it works
Ask
Send a request with a little about the person and what is difficult.
Assess
We visit at home or meet at our office to understand needs and goals.
Plan
Together we agree on equipment, therapy, schooling or work.
Arrange and review
We arrange each part, then check how it is going every few months.
How you can help
Every part of this programme depends on donors, volunteers and partners.
Common questions
Do I need a disability certificate first?
No. We can help you get the certificate and UDID card as part of the support.
Do you charge for wheelchairs and equipment?
Equipment is free for families who cannot afford it. Families who can contribute are asked to, so we can help more people.
Do you visit villages?
Yes. Our team makes home visits across the valley. In heavy snow, visits may take longer.
